Junko Hori, the popular Japanese voice actress, passed away at the age of 89 on November 18. The news of her demise was announced by her talent agency, Production Baobab. She was well known for her roles in ‘Ninja Hatori’, and ‘Tom and Jerry’, among others.
The news of her demise was announced a week later because of her family’s wishes. Only close friends and family attended her funeral.
She has worked in popular anime television shows like ‘Speed Racer’, ‘Moomin’, ‘Andersen Stories’, ‘New Moomin’, ‘Ashita No Joe 2’, ‘Game Center Arashi’ and ‘Cinderella Boy’ among others.
She has given her voice to the live-action projects as well including ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, ‘Friday the 13th: A New Beginning’, ‘Supercar’. Junko was also the voice of Bart Simpson in the popular animated show ‘The Simpsons’ and also Jerry in one of the most popular shows ‘Tom and Jerry’.
