‘It’s A Shame’: Netanyahu Slams Macron Over Call For Arms Embargo On Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invoked all ‘civilized nations’ to stand with the country in its war against the ‘barbarism’ that Iran represents. Netanyahu made the plea as a response to a suggestion by French President Emmanuel Macron that an arms embargo be imposed on the Jewish state, which Netanyahu described as ‘shameful’.

Netanyahu was appalled at those nations that claim to be against terrorism but still maintain an arms embargo on Israel. He raised the question rhetorically, “Is Iran imposing an arms embargo on its groups like Hezbollah and Hamas?” He reminded the audience that nations must be united with Israel during this challenging time.

He raised the question rhetorically, “Is Iran imposing an arms embargo on its groups like Hezbollah and Hamas?” He reminded the audience that nations must be united with Israel during this challenging time.

Facing Multiple Threats

In his address, Netanyahu said that Israel is fighting on seven different fronts with her enemies. He stated,

Yemen: He addressed the Houthis, who, along with other Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, have aggressively launched numerous attacks against Israel.
Judea and Samaria: Netanyahu highlighted the dangers of terrorists who might try to bomb civilians in Israel’s cities.
Iran: He also condemned Iran for having recently launched more than 200 missiles at Israel, referring to it as the entity behind most attacks on Israel.

Netanyahu Vows To Win

Netanyahu reassured everyone that Israel would win – with or without the support of the Western powers. ‘Israel will win with or without their support,’ he said. He stressed that it’s not only for the survival of Israel but also for the security of all civilized nations.

He said that demands for an arms ban are shameful and emphasized the fact that in defending itself, Israel is also safeguarding peace and security values for everybody. He vowed that Israel would continue to fight until they triumphed in the battle over the safety and security of the whole world.
