‘You Took Him As…’ Aakash Chopra Slams RR For Signing Unavailable Nandre Burger In IPL 2025

The famous cricket analyst Aakash Chopra believes that the Rajasthan Royals have secured Nandre Burger for the next IPL season instead of the current one, as the South African bowler is unavailable this season. Burger, who previously represented the Rajasthan Royals in 2024, was signed as a replacement for the injured Sandeep Sharma following the team’s exit from the IPL 2025 tournament.

What Aakash Chopra Said

“There is no Jofra Archer. There is no Nandre Burger. Burger hasn’t come, or he is already injured. He is not available, and I am thinking, what have you done? You took him as a replacement for Sandeep Sharma. You won’t take a replacement if a player who comes as a replacement gets injured,” said Chopra.

“They have basically done it for the next year only. Rajasthan haven’t thought about this year at all because they cannot play Nandre Burger now as he isn’t available. They have selected an unavailable player so that they can ace the next year’s auction. Very interesting choice,” said Chopra.

Nandre Burger’s Performance In IPL

Nandre Burger has put up a good performance during the IPL 2024 season. In just 6 matches, he has made a noticeable impact with his bowling. He has bowled 102 deliveries, giving away 145 runs while taking 7 wickets. His bowling average of 20.71 showcases his knack for taking wickets consistently. With an economy rate of 8.53, he has shown the ability to handle pressure, particularly during the middle overs. His strike rate of 14.57 indicates that he picks up a wicket about every 15 balls. All in all, Burger has established himself as an exciting pace option for the Rajasthan Royals this season.
