WTC 2023-25: England Faces Massive Loss After India Absence In Lord’s Final – The Impact REVEALED!

The upcoming ICC tournament is ready to roll after a dramatic Champions Trophy conclusion. The final match of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 is set to be played between South Africa and Australia in June. According to The Times, Due to the absence of the Indian cricket team, the Lord’s Cricket Ground will face a revenue loss of approx. Rs 45 crore.

The prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) will not be able to get the expected financial benefit. This makes it clear how much impact Indian cricket has on the world economy.

India Out Of WTC Final

After losing 3-1 to Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the disastorous 3-0 Test series loss against New Zealand at home, India slipped to third place. Due to this, the Indian team could not get a place in the final.

Loss In Ticket Sales

Early on, the MCC had kept the ticket prices for the final match quite high as a large number of Indian fans were expected to attend. But when India failed to qualify for the final, MCC had to reduce the ticket prices. This decision was taken so that more and more spectators come to the stadium. This would reduce the losses.

Impact Of Indian Cricket In World

India’s absence in the final is causing huge financial losses to Lord’s Cricket Ground, which reflects the tremendous economic power of Indian cricket fans globally. Although the MCC has adopted strategies to compensate for the losses, but it is clear that the absence of the Indian team has a big impact on the cricket.
