Ever since news of businessman Raj Kundra’s involvement in pornography case has hit the web, his old interviews and media releases have surfaced. On July 19, Raj was arrested by Mumbai police for his involvement in a pornography case. It is been alleged that Raj was making apps, that were selling bold content (porn). However, the investigation is still underway and everyone is waiting for the whole truth to come out. 

This is not the first time Raj has embroiled himself in controversies. In 2015, the businessman’s name was linked in a match-fixing. For the unversed, Raj and actress-wife Shilpa Shetty Kundra were co-owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals, which was named in match-fixing in 2013. Two years later, it was revealed that Raj was involved in the case and he was served a lifetime ban from the series.

During that time, in 2015, while talking to Zee News, Raj spoke about making money without a godfather and how he made his way to the level he is at. “When it comes to integrity there’s nothing more important. Mere liye paesa koi maene nhi rakhta. Main floor se aaya hoon, khud hi maine kamai ki hai aajtak. Mere koi forefathers nahi hai. Thaali pe kuch mila nahi hai aajtak. So the way I work is that money main kabhi bhi kama lunga but izzat nhi gawani chahiye,” he was quoted as saying. 

(Loosely translated: There’s no value of money for me. I had a humble beginning, I’ve earned on my own so far. I never had any forefathers. I was never handed anything on a silver platter. So the way I work is that money I can earn money any time but I shouldn’t lose my respect) 

While everyone has been talking about the whole case for which Raj has been arrested, his wife and actress Shilpa has been tight-lipped about the same. 

However, recently, she took to social media and shared a motivational quote on “surviving challenges.” A part of her quote reads, “The place we need to be is right here, right now- not looking anxiously at what has been or what might be, but fully aware of what is. I take a deep breath, knowing that I’m lucky to be alive. I have survived challenges in the past and will survive challenges in the future. Nothing need distract me from living my life today.”

After his medical tests and other formalities, Raj was sent to jail till July 23, 2021. It’s left to be seen what will happen next in Raj Kundra’s pornography case.
