The Rajasthan Royals had made a huge decision during the IPL auction, and signed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for INR 1.10 crore when he was only 13. After small scores of 34 and 16 in his first two games, the young sensation finally made his presence felt in style with a record-breaking century against the Gujarat Titans.

MS Dhoni’s Conversation With Vaibhav

RR team manager Romi Bhinder also shared with Sports Today that MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli interacted with the 14-year old batter and before his century and praised him.

“Yes, he met Dhoni the last game we played in Guwahati. So he met Mahi. He will again meet him in our reverse fixture against CSK. But I can see similar traits in both men. Both are calm and cool, but still play aggressive cricketing shots. So there are a few similarities,” said Bhinder.

“MS Dhoni also praised him a lot, he said ‘ok, you got the baby in your team. The baby is showing the great shots like a matured player,” he added.

What Did Virat Kohli Say To Vaibhav Suryavanshi?

“Vaibhav likes Virat Kohli a lot. They met and shared a couple of tips. Virat also told him that how to be grounded and how to stay humble and work hard,” said Bhinder

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Breaks World Record

At an age of just 14 years and 32 days old, Suryavanshi became the youngest player in the history of men’s T20 cricket to have scored a century. The left-handed batter first raised his fifty off just 17 deliveries, leaving veteran pacer Ishant Sharma to the cleaners for 26 runs in an over. In the IPL history he is now just behind Chris Gayle as the second fastest player. Interestingly, no other player under the age of 18 has ever achieved a T20 century before. He is also the 7th Indian teenager to have scored a T20 ton after Rohit Sharma, Devdutt Padikkal and Manish Pandey.
