Vashu Bhagnani, the Indian film producer, has filed a complaint against Bade Miyan Chote Miyan director Ali Abbas Zafar and co-producer Himanshu Mehra, accusing them of fraud, forgery, criminal breach of trust, cheating, and misappropriation of crores of rupees. Bhagnani claims that his signatures were forged during the film’s production.

After receiving no response from Bandra Police Station, Bhagnani escalated the matter to the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The court has now directed the police to take action against Zafar, Mehra, and other team members, including filing an FIR under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy), Section 406 (criminal breach of trust), and Section 420 (cheating).

According to reports, the charges also include Sections 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged document), 500 (criminal defamation), and 506 (criminal intimidation), all under Section 34 of the IPC.

The court has highlighted that the alleged fraud involved a large amount of money and multiple transactions, spread across different locations.

Bhagnani first filed his complaint on September 3, 2024, but after no action from the police, he turned to the court to seek justice.
