The ongoing second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has created a lot of difficulties almost everywhere. People from lower strata of society, daily wage workers, garment staff, farmers are finding it difficult to make their ends meet. It is an appreciating fact that a lot of good-hearted people from society like businessmen, industrialists, political leaders, bureaucrats, and philanthropists have come forward to help the needy people.

It can be noted that even some top actors and personalities from the Kannada film industry too have joined their hands in this cause. Top Kannada actor and director Upendra is also one among them.

For the past many days Upendra is busy helping out those who are in need. The actor is distributing food kits, vegetables to those who are in need of it. He is doing all these activities through his foundation called Uppi foundation.

Initially, the actor started purchasing the vegetables and crops grown by the farmers in Karnataka who were finding it difficult to sell them. Later he started distributing those to the needy.

His acts caught the attention of many other philanthropists who started donating generously, whatever possible in their capacity to the Uppi foundation. Meanwhile, Upendra started thanking all the personalities through his Twitter handle and assured them that they will reach into safe hands.

When all was going well, the actor has again tweeted in his social media account and has announced that his foundation will no longer be accepting any kind of donations from anybody henceforth

Upendra has posted a note in his Twitter account which read, “ Till today even though we did not request anyone some good hearted people have given vegetables, fruits and groceries to be distributed through us and also donated money to our Uppi foundation. We have distributed all these to needy people in different places and are continuing to do so. We thank you very much for your kind support. From now on if you need to help someone we request you to do it directly do the needy people in your surrounding. We are stopping to accept money or any materials from now. Till date whatever money received from you and Sri. Upendra, and its expenditure with full accounts will be disclosed shortly. We thank you once again for your kind support. . – Uppi Foundation”.

The exact reason for not accepting any kind of donations by the actor’s foundation is not clearly known yet
