The Union Cabinet have approved approved the 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and expansion of of of the Kendriya Vidyalaya. Apart from this, they have also approved to establish the 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas in the country.
This move by the Union Cabinet will provide new opportunities for students. This will bring boost up in the educational field.
As per the Indian Government this move will “provide good quality modern education-including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education- to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas without regard to their family’s socio-economic condition.”
Speaking on it Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has pointed out the importance of the initiative. He mentioned that, “To implement the New Education Policy, PM Shri was brought – all the Central Schools and Navodaya Vidyalayas were designated as PM Shri schools to make them a model for other schools to follow.”
As per media reports this new Kendriya Vidyalayas will benefit around 82,560 students and the new Navodaya Vidyalayas will benefit around 15,690 students.
This will not only benefit students but will bring job opportunities too. As per media reports, a total of Rs 8,232 crore has been given to establish these schools. Under this amount, Rs 5,872 crore is for new Kendriya Vidyalayas and Rs 2,360 crore for the new Navodaya Vidyalayas. This move will create around 6,700 job opprtunities. Under this comes 5,388 with new Kendriya Vidyalayas and 1,316 with new Navodaya Vidyalayas.
