The Last Of Us Season 2 is currently the most talked about show online and has kept the viewers on the edge of the seats. In a turn of events, a major character got killed the second season and this comes out as a shock for many. The Last Of Us is based on the popular video game of the same and the people, who are familiar with the game’s plot knew about this character’s death.

What’s Next In The Last Of Us Season 2 After Joel’s Death

Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, died in The Last Of Us Episode 2. His death was extremely painful to watch for the viewers as he was the protagonist and the audience grew to like him over the time. Abby killed Joel to seek revenge on her the death of her father, who was earlier killed Joel himself. Kaitlyn Dever plays the role of Abby and is the new addition to the cast.

According to the video game, Ellie will now seek revenge on Abby for killing Joel and tries to find her. She, along with Dina and Tommy, sets out to hunt Abby and kill her. At last, Ellie finds Abby and overpowers her in a fight but spares her life after recalling her last conversation with Joel.

Pedro Pascal’s Reaction To Joel’s Death In The Last Of Us Season 2

While speaking to Entertainment Weekely, Pedro said, “It’s not like they said, ‘Hey, we kill you at the beginning of season 2. But it was always an understanding that it would stay true to the source material… It was just a matter of how and when.”

 

He added, “I have nothing but respect for the level of investment that people have… I think it is incredibly painful for people, and that’s obviously a brilliant achievement of the storytelling.”

Talking about the reaction of people on the set, he shared, “It was interesting to step into the room and see the reactions in people’s faces. It wasn’t one of revulsion but of heartbreak.”

When asked about how he is dealing with the death of his character Joel, he said, “I’m in active denial… I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it because it makes me sad.”

The show also stars Gabriel Luna, Rutina Wesley, Young Mazino, Isabela Merced, Danny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Catherine O’Hara and Jeffery Wright.
