The fans of Heri Pheri franchise were on cloud nine as the original trio Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty were returning as well. It was reported that the actors have also started shooting for the film. But in a turn of event, Paresh Rawal announced his sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3 and left fans disappointed. Suniel Shetty, who plays Shyam in the franchise, recently expressed his shock over Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit and said Hera Pheri 3 can not happen without him.
Reacting to news of Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3, he said, “It cannot happen. 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal.” He added, “It can have a 1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% can’t happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn’t. Raju and Shyam, if they’re not hammered by Babu here, it doesn’t work.”
He expressed his shock on the development and told India Today, “And I was here doing my interviews, and I felt like ‘holy s***’.”
According to reports by Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar has decided to sue Paresh Rawal for the damages caused by his sudden exit in Hera Pheri 3. The reports suggest that Akshay Kumar’s production house Cape Of Good Films has sent a legal notice to actor Paresh Rawal claiming 25 crores in damages for his unprofessional conduct and exiting the movie after signing a legal contract and beginning the shoot. For the unversed, Akshay is the producer of Hera Pheri 3 and legally bought the rights for it from producer Feroz Nadiadwala.
A source was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times, “Paresh displayed a blatant disregard for professional integrity or commercial morality. If he wanted to not do the film, he should have said so before signing the legal contract, accepting the signing amount and making the producer spend so much money on the shoot.”
“It is high time Bollywood actors realise that like Hollywood, producers here too will no longer give in to the whims of an actor walking in and out of a film as he pleases,” the source further added.
There were speculations that Paresh Rawal left Hera Pheri 3 due to some creative differences with director Priyadarshan. But he clarified this and wrote on X, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director.”
