South Africa vs Pakistan: Which Three Pakistani Cricketers Sanctioned For Misconduct By ICC? Find Out

The International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed penalties on three Pakistani cricketers who participated in a successful tri-nation series match against South Africa at Karachi.

Shaheen Shah Afridi faced the biggest fine at 25% of his match fee because he violated ICC Code of Conduct Article 2.12. During the 28th over Shaheen Shah Afridi deliberately pushed South African batter Matthew Breetzke while blocking his path leading to a fight between the players.

During the 29th over both Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam received 10% match fee penalties because of their rowdy celebration when Temba Bavuma’s run out. The Code’s Article 2.5 became violated because of their prohibited actions.

All players accumulated one disciplinary point yet none of them had any recorded prior infractions in the last two seasons. The team members received their sanctioned penalties by agreeing to them without requiring formal disciplinary proceedings.

The team of Pakistan won the match and secured their spot in the final stage of the tri-nation series that would take place against New Zealand on February 14th.
