Malaika Arora has been reissued with a bailable warrant by the Mumbai court in the 2012 hotel brawl case involving Saif Ali Khan. She failed to appear before the court as a witness in this case about the alleged attack on an NRI businessman by Saif Ali Khan at a five-star hotel here in 2012.

Proceedings So Far

As per the report of PTI, Malaika Arora was a part of the group that had gone for the dinner at the hotel when the alleged incident took place on February 12, 2012. It is noted that the Chief Judicial Magistrate (Esplanade Court), KS Zanwar, is currently recording the testimony of witnesses in the case.

The court first issued a bailable warrant against Malaika on February 15, 2025, which was reissued on Monday, as she did not turn up before the court. This matter will be next heard on April 29, 2025.

Saif Ali Khan and two other accused were arrested following a complaint filed by the businessman- Iqbal Mir Sharma. The three accused were later released on bail. The actor was accompanied by his wife Kareena Kapoor, her sister Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and some male friends at the hotel when the brawl broke out.

About The Incident

According to the police, when Sharma protested the raucous chatter of the actor and his friends, Saif allegedly threatened them and subsequently punched Sharma in the nose, fracturing it. The NRI businessman also accused Saif and his friends of hitting his father-in-law, Raman Patel.

On the other hand, Saif has claimed that Sharma made some provocative statements and used abusive language against the women accompanying him, which led to the brawl. Saif and his two friends, Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, have been charged under section 325 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code.

Saif Ali Khan’s Work Front

Saif Ali Khan’s next movie is Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. It is an action thriller that is set to premiere on Netflix on April 25, 2025, with a star cast of Nikita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat and Kunal Kapoor. Saif AIi Khan will reportedly star in Race 4 as well, alongside Sidharth Malhotra.
