The Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting and All India Congress Committee (AICC) session have convened in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Top Congress leaders are in attendance for this CWC meeting in Gujarat. Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Permanent Invitee to CWC, Rajeev Shukla who arrived in the city for the meeting, stated that that several important issues, along with the current situation of the organization, will be discussed. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and other prominent Congress leaders are participating in the meeting.

“These matters will be discussed in the CWC, and there will be deliberations on the organisation’s situation and how to strengthen the party,” said Shukla.

He also spoke on the tariffs imposed by the United States. Shukla asserted that the impact of tariff is terrifying and the economy has taken a wrong turn. He reiterated that there is a need to strengthen the economy, otherwise it would have a huge impact on Indian trade. Shukla said that if the situation is not managed properly, then Indian trade would be affected and employment opportunities would drastically reduce.

Shukla told ANI, “The economy has taken a wrong turn. We had been saying earlier too that if this economy is not managed, it will have a huge impact on Indian trade, and employment opportunities will drastically reduce. Strengthening the economy is very essential.”

CWC Meeting

The CWC meeting is set against the scenic backdrop of the Sabarmati Riverfront. The meeting is expected to address key political developments, party’s strategies for upcoming elections, and discuss strengthening initiatives.

Earlier in the day, ahead of the meeting, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, “Congress will announce its return from the state of Mahatma Gandhi.”
