It was on September 2, 2021, that popular television and film actor Sidharth Shukla passed away. The actor was 40. The news came as a shock to not just his loyal fan base, but also to his friends and colleagues from the film industry. Apart from his near and dear ones, several other celebrities were shocked by the news, mourned the loss and offered condolences to his family members.

Actor Ronit Roy, in an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, opened up about the unfortunate passing of Sidharth. Ronit shared that he didn’t know the Bigg Boss 13 winner closely, and knew him just as a member of the entertainment industry. “I knew him as a very fine, very popular actor. I share the grief of his passing with his family, his friends and his fans,” he said, adding that while Sidharth was already a popular name, he became a household name after his stint on the Salman Khan-hosted show, Bigg Boss.

“One suddenly saw him grow and getting immensely popular. He had done a lot of work, and he also worked with Balaji Telefilms again,” said the actor. Ronit also confirmed that the late actor was in talks for some good projects. “I know for a fact that some people were talking to him about some very good projects,” he said, adding, “I grieve for the loss of the member of my fraternity, for the loss of the immense potential of art that he had.”

On the work front, Ronit’s latest show, Candy, is now streaming on Voot Select. The series co-stars Richa Chadha and Manu Rishi Chadha in lead roles. About his experience of working with Richa, Ronit shared that it was a great experience.

“Everyone knows she is an extremely talented actor,” he said, revealing that he was waiting to work with her for a long time now. “I like the way she does her work, I like the way she is as a person. There is a certain discipline and at the same time she is sweet and easy to work with. She is a great human being. I am honoured to be sharing the screen space with her,” said the actor.
