Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh will be seen on season 2 of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The news was confirmed by Mufaddal Vohra on social media platform X. The ace cricketers will discuss about their T20 World Cup victory besides having fun with the star comedian Kapil Sharma, known for his spontaneity and wit.

Season 1 of The Great Indian Kapil Show was a big hit and hosted well-known names such as Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and family, Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali among others. Looking at the success, OTT platform Netflix decided to bring it back and season 2 of the same has been scheduled to release on September 21, 2024.

Kapil Sharma has carved a niche for himself in the comedy space with sheer talent and hard work. Before making his way towards OTT, the comedian hosted his talk show on national television for more than a decade. During this time, he invited celebrities from different spheres including several international cricketers.

Cricketers who previously interacted with Kapil Sharma

In the year 2017, Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, and Suresh Raina appeared on the Kapil Sharma Show to enjoy some laughs and lighter moments. Nitish Rana, Ravi Bishnoi, Rahul Tewatia, and Axar Patel also graced the stage in the episode titled ‘Rising Stars of Indian Cricket’.

Rohit Sharma appeared on the first season of The Great Indian Kapil Show and talked about the pain of losing world cup. “Two days before the match, our team was in Ahmedabad and we did our practice. The team had maintained a good momentum. As if the team was on autopilot. When the match began, we started good. Shubman Gill got out quickly but then Virat Kohli and I had a partnership. We were confident we could achieve a good score. I feel that in big matches, if you are able to score runs and create pressure on the opposite team…because the opposite team has to make runs. But Australia played good cricket. We even managed to take three-wickets for just 40 runs but they had a long partnership,” he shared with Kapil.

Rohit further shared that he was thinking that the World Cup took place in our country and yet they could not win. “I felt the nation might be angry with us. But I only heard people praising how well we played, and how they enjoyed watching that cricket,” he added.
