It’s the end of an era and every ’90s kid will agree. It has now been confirmed that Rannvijay Singha, winner of Roadies Season 1 and the host of the reality TV show, has quit. After winning and successfully mentoring others as a host, Ranvijay has chosen to step down. Fans and followers of the show have been stating that it’s an end of an era!

Apart from being a contestant, host, mentor, the audience began identifying the show to Rannvijay, and often, aspiring contestants participated in the auditions only to get a chance to meet him.  The youth reality-based show first aired in 2003 with Raghu Ram, Rajiv Lakshman as the judges and creators. They quit the show in 2014. Their exit came as an equal shock and it’s left to see how they react to Singha’s announcement.

Updating his fans on the same, Rannvijay confirmed the news to say, “The channel has been a key pillar of my journey and I’ll be doing interesting work with them. On this edition of Roadies, things didn’t work out from both sides. Our dates were not matching and it is disheartening.” Singha further elaborated to say that he had no issue with the production house. In fact, “I’ve been working with the channel for 18 years. I’ve done different shows with the network. Production house aur mera koi taal mel hai nahi,” he told Hindustan Times.

23 hours ago, Singha went on to share a post on social media but ardent fans have been flooding the comment section to question his decision to quit the show. One social media user wrote, “Why are you quitting Roadies??? Roadies is Roadies coz of you sir . please dnt do this , u are my inspiration sir” while another wrote, “Sir roadies apke bina kuch ni hai please app to quit mt kro please raghu sir ke baad apki vajah se log dekh rahe hai please quit mt kro” and on the other hand, various social media users just wrote the name of the show with crying emojis.

If rumours are anything to go by, Sonu Sood is likely to step into Rannvijay’s role.
