Ruben Amorim made it explicit that Marcus Rashford needs to show greater commitment towards Manchester United if he wants to ever play for the Red Devils. Amorim said he chose not to select him for the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12 because of “training reasons.” Rashford had since wished for a “new challenge” after that match but has been put in the match-day squad only once-benchmarked during a 2-0 loss to Newcastle on December 30. Amorim’s relationship with the forward has since tainted, with the manager stating that he would rather take Jorge Vital-his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach-onto the bench ahead of Rashford because of the latter’s alleged lack of application in training. The two are reportedly not on talking terms anymore.
