Actor Vikram, who is currently gearing up for his upcoming Tamil film Cobra, has reacted to the ongoing boycott Bollywood trend on social media over certain films. Several Bollywood films have faced boycott calls on social media in recent times. The much-anticipated films of the year including Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan faced boycott calls from the netizens.
Now, Ponniyin Selvan actor, who has been travelling across the country for the promotions of his film Cobra, was recently asked about the ongoing trend. During his promotional event in Hyderabad, he refused to answer directly when he was asked about the same.
He said, “I don’t know what language you are speaking. What do you mean by that (boycott)? I know what’s a boy. I very well know what’s a girl. I know very, very well, what’s a cot. But, I don’t know what’s a boycott.”
Apart from Vikram, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma, Vijay Deverakonda, Aamir Khan, among others too reacted to the trend.
Meanwhile, Vikram essays the role of a genius mathematician, who is on a killing spree and commits a crime while donning different disguises. Helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, the film also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Indian pacer Irfan Pathan, and Darlings‘ actor Roshan Mathew. According to the reports, the film has been shot on a massive budget and has music score by AR Rahman.
He will also be seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyan Selvan, which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film is based on the eponymous novel by Kalki. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 30.
