India Women’s Record-Breaking ODI Total Not Enough To Top New Zealand’s Score, What Is The Highest Score In Women’s ODI?

In women’s One Day International cricket, New Zealand has long dominated the record books for highest team totals, with their remarkable 491/4 against Ireland in Dublin standing as a testament to their batting prowess. This extraordinary performance in June 2018 not only set a new benchmark in women’s ODI cricket but also demonstrated the evolving nature of the women’s game.

The White Ferns have consistently posted massive totals, holding three of the top four highest scores in Women’s ODI history. Their 455/5 against Pakistan in Christchurch back in 1997 was a groundbreaking achievement that stood as the record for over two decades, highlighting New Zealand’s long-standing batting excellence. The team further reinforced their dominance with another spectacular showing against Ireland, posting 440/3 just five days after their record-breaking 491.

India Women have recently joined this elite club with their impressive 435/5 against Ireland in Rajkot. This performance not only marks India’s highest ODI total but also reflects the team’s growing aggressive approach to batting in limited-overs cricket. The score stands as a significant milestone in India’s cricket history and signals its emergence as a powerhouse in women’s cricket.

These mammoth totals reflect the remarkable evolution of women’s cricket, with teams now regularly posting scores that would have been considered extraordinary just a few years ago. The increased frequency of such high scores indicates improved batting techniques, more aggressive approaches, and better playing conditions in the women’s game.
