Pakistan have been probably in the form of their life as far as T20Is are concerned in the last one year or so. They have been in rampaging form and despite the heartbreaking exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in the semi-final against Australia, they came back and thrashed Bangladesh 3-0 in their own backyard.
Now with a long home season ahead, the men in green will be looking for a winning start against West Indies. The men in maroon, on the other hand, are bereft of some of their star experienced players. While regular skipper Kieron Pollard is still recovering from his hamstring injury, a few players pulled out of the tour citing personal reasons.
Wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran, who led the West Indies in the 4-1 series victory against Australia at home in July will be at the helm of a comparatively younger side as they look towards building a side for the future after a disastrous campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021.
