Since India’s conquest in the Champions Trophy 2025, rumours have been circulating about the potential retirements of veteran players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami. While Virat and Rohit addressed the speculation on Sunday night in Dubai, questions about Ravindra Jadeja’s future plans persisted. On Monday, the all-rounder ended all doubts by posting a four-word response on Instagram.

The rumours intensified after Jadeja completed his 10-over spell in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. When Virat Kohli embraced Jadeja after his final over, many assumed the left-arm spinner was preparing to retire from ODIs.

Jadeja shared an Instagram Story, asking people not to believe in rumours and not indulge in hearsay. “No unnecessary rumours, thanks,” Jadeja wrote in his Instagram Stories

Jadeja’s Match-Winning Moment

Jadeja delivered an all-round performance in the final. With his 10-over spell, he conceded only 30 runs and took the crucial wicket of Tom Latham.

Later, Jadeja was needed with the bat and played a quick cameo, scoring nine runs off six balls. He also hit the winning runs for India.

After sealing the victory, Jadeja celebrated in style. He first performed the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance with Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, before lifting head coach Gautam Gambhir as he ran onto the field to join in the celebration.
