Anurag Basu has returned to the director’s chair after five years with ‘Metro In Dino’. The movie will follow a similar theme of his 2007 film ‘Life In A Metro’, which focused on the lives of different couples in Mumbai. The movie stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripahti, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher and Saswata Chatterjee in the lead roles. After creating excitement among fans with its song ‘Zamaana Lage’, the makers have finally dropped its trailer.

In an interview with Filmfare, Aditya Riy Kapur shared why he chose to work with Anurag Basu for his next project. He said, “With Dada, everything and every day is a discovery, every day is a fun challenge. It is unpredictable, you don’t know what new idea he is gonna throw your way and that’s the most fun part of the process.”

He earlier worked with the filmmaker in the 2020 film ‘Ludo’.

Fatima Sana Shaikh also praised Anurag Basu in an interview and shared her experience of working with him in Metro In Dino and Ludo. She told Mid-Day, “As a director, he is considerate and takes care of you. People think if the film is taking long, a lot of shoot is being done. But that’s not the case. Since his films have an ensemble cast, he has to coordinate the dates of so many actors. If you trust him, he will get the best performance out of you. Also, his characters are so well-written.”

Anurag Basu’s 2007 film ‘Life In A Metro’ also focuses on the theme of complicated love in urban cities. The movie starred Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Shiney Ahuja, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, and Sharman Joshi in lead roles.

‘Metro In Dino’ will release in theatres on July 4, 2025.
