Mayank Agarwal names one IPL team he would love to play for other than Punjab Kings

One of the best T20 batsmen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) now, Mayank Agarwal has been part of the tournament since 2011. He kicked off his IPL journey with Royal Challengers Bangalore and later went on to represent Delhi Capitals and Rising Pune Supergiant.

Mayank struggled in the tournament for long and it was in 2020 that he established himself as one of the best batsmen in the league. Playing in his 3rd season for Punjab Kings (PBKS), in 2020, Mayank scored 424 runs to earn a place in the national team. He followed up with 441 runs in IPL 2021 and also led the team in a league game in the absence of KL Rahul.

As a result of his consistent run in 2 seasons, Mayank was the only capped player that PBKS retained and he will be receiving a sum of Rs 12 crore.

While he is set to stay with his present team, Mayank has named one team he would like to play for other than PBKS. Speaking to Sportskeeda, Mayank said that he would like to represent RCB if not PBKS. The right-handed batsman represented his home team in 29 matches between 2011 to 2013. He scored 433 runs at 18.82

He joined Delhi in 2014 and was traded to RPS in 2017. In the 2018 mega auction, Mayank joined PBKS for Rs 1 crore. He did play 24 matches in 2 years but only got regular chances to open the innings from 2020.

Mayank has donned 100 IPL caps and has 2131 runs in his account. He has scored one century in the tournament and has recorded 11 half-centuries. Since KL Rahul parted ways with PBKS, Mayank remains one of the top contenders to lead the side. Apart from Mayank, PBKS also retained pacer Arshdeep Singh.
