Majithia not in Punjab; Sidhu upset with me ever since I became Home Minister: Dy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa  said that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who was booked under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, is not in Punjab. Randhawa also acknowledged that state Congres chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is upset ever since he was appointed as DY CM.

As per my information, Bikram Singh Majithia is not in Punjab. These videos and photos (showing him at Golden temple) are fake. If he is spotted anywhere in Punjab, he will land in jail within a matter of minutes, said Randhawa.

The Punjab Dy CM rejected the reports that Punjab Police has an idea of the whereabouts of brother-in-law of Sukhbir Badal, Bikram Singh Majithia.

Police teams are searching for Majithia. Since he has no government security, it is wrong to say that police have knowledge about his whereabouts, the Punjab Deputy CM said.

Majithia has been accused of allowing drug smuggling through use of his property or conveyance, financing the distribution or sale of drugs and hatching a criminal conspiracy for smuggling.

Sidhu had earlier announced that a case has been registered.

“An FIR has been registered in Punjab Police Crime Branch against the main culprits of Drug Trade on basis of February 2018 STF report, wherein I demanded this 4 years ago – It is a slap on the face of all those powerful who slept for years on issues at the heart of Punjab’s soul,” Sidhu had said without naming Majithia.

“After 5.5 Years of fight against Corrupt System run by Badal Family & Captain and delay of 4 years without action taken on ED & STF Report against Majithia. Finally now, after pushing for credible officers in positions of power and influence first step has been taken!” Sidhu had said.

Meanwhile, ahead of the Assembly polls, the internal rift in Punjab Congress has widened with Randhawa saying that Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is upset with him ever since he became the state home minister.

“If Sidhu wants the home ministry, then I will put it at his feet in a minute,” Randhawa told mediapersons.
