West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Thursday expressed serious concerns regarding the heart-wrenching details provided by the parents of a 31-year-old trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical Hospital recently.

The Governor came down heavily on the Mamata Banerjee-led state government in West Bengal for its alleged inaction in the trainee doctor’s case. Governor Bose also slammed the state government for failing to ensure justice for the parents of the victim and emphasized that “two wrongs do not make a right.”

Addressing the media, the Governor confirmed that the victim’s parents provided written details of the incident to him, which he discussed with the Home Minister.

Referring to the Kolkata rape and murder incident, he said, “Action was initiated within just two days, in response to the complaints.” He further added that the details disclosed by the victim’s parents are extremely heart-breaking.
