Pakistan suffered a shameful defeat against the promising Bangladesh-side at Rawalpindi on August 25th, 2024 which raised a lot of eyebrows among fans and cricketing pundits. This is for the first time Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in their Test cricket history and also became the first team to defeat them by 10-wickets on their own turf.

Among the cricket pundits, the former England captain Kevin Pietersen expressed his disappointment on Pakistan’s 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh.

Pietersen also questioned on work ethics of Pakistan’s current bunch of players and compared his time playing the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Known for his tactical talks, he expressed his views on X “What happened to cricket in Pakistan? When I played the PSL, the standard of that league was tremendous, the players had a very good work ethic and the youngsters on display were magic.

What’s happening there?”

During Day 5, it looked like the game would end up in a draw but things changed when the Bangladeshi spinners (Mehidy Hasan Miraz & Shakib Al Hasan) spun web around the Pakistani batters and rattled them down for a mere 146/10 during their 2nd innings. In reply, the Bangla-openers (Zakir Hasan & Shadman Islam) completed the formalities and chased down 30 runs within 6.3 overs and created history by winning for the first time against Pakistan.
