In a landmark achievement, over 93 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered across India till Friday evening, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said. The country reached another milestone, as the cumulative number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed the 62-crore landmark.
The Union health minsiter congratulated the countrymen as India today administered a historic number of vaccine doses.
“Congratulations to the citizens as India today administers historic 90 lakh #COVID19 vaccines until now – and still counting!” Union health minister tweeted.
Meanwhile, in yet another feat, over half of India’s eligible population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“India achieves unprecedented milestone! 50 per cent of the eligible population inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Keep it up India. Let us fight Corona,” tweeted Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
While 100 per cent of the front-line workers have been inoculated against the deadly contagious virus, there has been a 99 per cent coverage among healthcare workers.
Currently, Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V vaccine doses are being administered in India.
