Mumbai-born New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel has gone on to achieve a marvelous feat here at Wankhede Stadium. Dismissing the fourth innings wicket to be Ravindra Jadeja, following which he dismissed Rishabh Pant which was Ajaz’s 24th wicket from this test venue. So far he has taken 20 overs in just two matches on this ground of Wankhede to become India’s most successful overseas player at a single Test playing ground.
Ajaz Patel Takes Stunning 10-Wicket Haul
Presently in the 3rd Test, Patel has grabbed five wickets in the first innings and thus far another five in the second with the Indians having tough time reaching 147. Patel overall has surpassed Ian Botham’s total of 22 wickets at this same ground for which the great achieved those in the year 1980 and made an altogether new record overseas at the Indian sub-continent grounds.

He finished that Wankhede Test with outstanding figures of 14 for 225, the best performance by a visiting bowler in India.
Ravichandran Ashwin has topped the wicket-taker’s list at Wankhede Stadium with 41 Test wickets in 12 innings. Anil Kumble is second with 38 wickets in 14 innings, Kapil Dev third with 28 in 21 innings, Harbhajan Singh fourth with 24 in 10 innings, and Karsan Ghavri also at the fifth with 23 in 11 innings.
