Indian batter Virat Kohli slammed his 30th Test hundred during the IND vs AUS 1st Test 2024-25 being played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Virat slammed his first international hundred in the year 2024 which was 81st overall in international cricket. Kohli also slammed his seventh Test century in Australia and went past Sachin Tendulkar to become the Indian batter with most Test centuries on the Australian soil. Virat has been among the top performers for the Indian team when it has come to scoring runs in Australia. The latter has brought out his best in the island nation with his performances he has delivered in the past.

A funny moment emerged in Perth, when Virat Kohli achieved his 30th Test century. Kohli smashed a boundary to Nathan Lyon towards the leg side to reach the three-figure mark in 143 balls. While, the whole Optus Stadium crowd and dressing room were on their feet to laud Virat Kohli, the right-handed Indian batter didn’t realise that he has completed his ton. At the end, when he saw everyone applauding his century, the latter celebrated it with both hands. The video for the same went viral on the social media.

The Indian team declared its first innings at a score of 487/6 and setup a total of 534 runs for the Australian team. Australia were reduced to 12/3 at the end of the day in 4.2 overs. Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj fought fire with fire against the Australian batters. The Indian team now will look forward to decimate the Aussies on Day 4 and win the match.
