‘I Will Wear A Suit After This War Is Over’: Zelenskyy Responds When Questioned By Reporter About Not Wearing A Suit

In a high-stakes meeting at the White House on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived to sign an agreement on rare minerals. However, an unfiltered moment occurred inside the Oval Office after a reporter asked him, “Why don’t you wear? You are in the US’s ‘highest level’ office. Do you own a suit?” Zelenskyy didn’t shy away and confronted the reporter, saying, “I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better.” He further added, “I don’t know, we will see. Maybe something cheaper. Thank you.”

The reporter’s remark immediately caused a stir in the room, leaving Donald Trump, US Vice President JD Vance, and others in splits. The reporter, not missing a beat, responded, “A lot of Americans have a problem with who don’t respect the dress code of the Oval office.”

The unexpected moment soon turned light-hearted after Trump joined the conversation. He told Zelenskyy, “I do like your clothing, by the way.” Referring to the reporter, Trump further added, “I don’t know if you two like each other…”

Netizens React

Many social media users have reacted to this conversation, making their points. A user wrote, “Maybe something cheaper. He’s sitting on BILLIONS of stolen money. He better wear a nice suit.” Another user commented, “What makes it even dumber is that all of his staff are wearing suits.”

A third user remarked, “Zelensky won’t wear a suit to the White House, but he has time to pose in his army costume for a Vogue spread. This guy really is something else. We know why he doesn’t wear a suit. It’s all an optics game to make him seem like a battlefield general.” Meanwhile, a fourth user shared Elon Musk’s image, asking, ‘Why is this one not wearing a suit to the Oval Office?”
