Actor Rahul Vohra, who has appeared in several web shows, passed away earlier today due to coronavirus complications. It was only recently that the actor had taken to Facebook to inform his fans that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and had sought help to find an oxygen cylinder and a hospital bed for himself. He penned a harrowing account of not getting a bed while his oxygen level was dropping at an alarming rate.
Rahul had also shared that he had no one to look after him. Today, director Arvind Gaur took to Facebook to inform that Rahul is no more. The director wrote, “Rahul Vohra is gone, my talented actor is no more. It was only yesterday that he told me his life could have been saved if he got better treatment. He was shifted to Ayushman, Dwarka last evening but we could not save him.”
With a photo of Rahul on his timeline, Arvind further added, “Please forgive us, we are all your culprits. My last respects.”
On Saturday, he shared details about himself to ask for an oxygen bed on FB. He wrote, “Mujhe bhi accha treatment mil jaata to mai bhi bach jaata tumhara IRahul Vohra. Jald janam lunga or acha kaam karunga. Ab himmat haar chuka hu.” [Translation: If I had received good treatment I would’ve been saved. I will be reborn and do some good work. Now, I have lost all courage]
Last week, Rahul shared that he had contracted the coronavirus. He wrote, “Main Covid Positive hu. Admit hu. Lagbhag 4 din se but koi recovery nahi. Kya koi aisa hospital hai? Zaha oxygen bed mil jaaye Kyunki yaha mera oxygen level continues down ja raha hai. Or koi dekhne wala nahi #delhi Main Bahut majboor hokar ye post kar raha hu, Kyunki ghawaale kuch sambhaal nahi paa rahe.”
[Translation: I am Covid positive and admitted to a hospital for the last four days. However, there is no recovery. Is there a hospital where I may get an oxygen bed because my oxygen level is continuously going down? I do not have anyone to look after me. Since my family is unable to do much, I have been forced to write this post out of sheer helplessness.]
The late actor was an avid social media user. He would often post photos and videos of his work. Rahul hailed from Uttarakhand and was a popular face on digital platforms.
