Had he apologised I would not have…: Wriddhiman Saha reacts after warning ‘respected journalist’ on Twitter

A day after issuing a stern warning to the outspoken journo on Twitter, Indian wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha has revealed that the ‘respected journalist’ is yet to apologise for his threatening message. Regarded as one of the seasoned campaigners in the longest and oldest format of the game, senior gloveman Saha had shared another explosive tweet in the aftermath of the threat text episode on Twitter.

Taking to the microblogging site on Tuesday, Indian wicketkeeper batter Saha said that he won’t reveal the identity of the journalist who threatened him. Breaking his silence on the threat messages episode on Twitter, the Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper decided not to disclose the journalist’s name on grounds of “humanity”. Saha’s explosive tweet against the journalist had sparked a massive debate in the Indian cricket spectrum.

After issuing a clarification on why he refused to expose the journalist, Saha spoke at length about the whole controversy and revealed that he has sent an email to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the whole incident. Speaking to India Today, the Indian cricketer said that the apex cricket board had enquired about the journalist who had sent him the threatening message.

“The second tweet clearly shows that the guy has not apologised. BCCI supported me and asked me for the name, I have not told them the name so far. I have mailed them the entire story,” Saha said. Hurt and offended by the journalist who used an arrogant tone to disrespect him for not replying to his request for an interview, Saha had tweeted that he will not hold back if such acts get repeated in the future.

“Giving the person to think about what he has done and if has any regret, if he does change, then I have to think. Had he apologised I would not have tweeted the second time. Such things happen. My motive is not to draw controversy but tell people that such things happen,” Saha added.
