Good News For Vande Bharat Passengers: 20-Coach Trains To Replace 16-Coach Trains On These Routes

Passengers are eagerly waiting for the launch of Vande Bharat sleeper trains and it could take place anytime soon. Currently, Vande Bharat trains with chair cars are operational across the country. Now , there is good news for the passengers of the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad routes. The railways has decided to replace the current 16-coach trains with 20-coach trains on the two routes. 

According to a report published in ET Now, the 20-coach train will replace 16-coach trains. These two trains have been allocated to Southern Railways and South Central Railways. The two 20-coach trains will get operation on Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad routes. The sitting capacity will increase from 1128 to 1440.

The train number of Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasaragod is 20634/20633 and it covers a distance of 588 kilometres in 8 hours, five minutes. The is the fastest express train on the route which is operational each day except Thursday. The train number 20634 starts from Thiruvananthapuram Central at 5:15 am and reaches Kasaragod at 13:20 pm. The train returns from Kasargod at 2:30 pm and reaches Thiruvananthapuram Central at 22;40 pm. 

The Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad train covers a distance of 699 kilometres in 8:35 minutes. The train runs each day between the destinations except Tuesday.
