Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina vowed to return to Bangladesh to avenge the deaths of security personnel and termed the Muhammad Yunus government a “terrorist regime.”
While addressing Awami Party League workers in a virtual address, Hasina said the current dispensation turned the country into a hub of terrorism and lawlessness.
Sheikh Hasina said Muhammad Yunus has no experience in governance, and he has abolished all inquiry committees. She alleged the interim government has handed over the country to terrorists to kill innocent citizens. She said she would return to the country and throw the Yunus government out of power, which is destroying the country.
The former prime minister said that Allah has kept her alive because she will return to her nation. Her remarks came amid the Muhammad Yunus government’s demand from India to extradite her and stop the leaders from making provoking statements from India.
The Bangladesh authorities had summoned the deputy high commissioner a few days back to lodge their protest. The Yunus government is also inching closer to Pakistan to display its bonhomie with India’s arch-rival.
Sheikh Hasina had to flee from Bangladesh last year after a violent student protest took place against her regime in the country.
