Emraan Hashmi reveals having conflicting situations with Big B in Chehre was ‘surreal and scary’

Director Rumi Jaffery’s film, Chehre is finally releasing in cinemas tomorrow. The movie was set to release in April 2020 but its release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A year later, the movie, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in important roles, is releasing on August 27, 2021, which is tomorrow. Before the film’s release, Times Now Digital did an interview with Emraan, who shared his experience of working with the veteran actor in the film, bankrolled by Anand Pandit.

“Having these conflicting situations with him (Amitabh Bachchan) on screen was a little surreal and scary. But he is very giving as an actor and extremely disciplined. And when you have such a giving actor, who has a large heart, I think that enhances your performance that makes you more confident in the scene,” said Emraan.

The actor, whose last theatrical release was Mumbai Saga, further told us about things he learnt from Big B. “And what I learnt from him is sheer discipline and passion for the craft. After so many years, a man who has decades of experience but he still comes for reading to discuss his character with the other characters and the director. And who is there in -16 degrees, out in the snow, will not sit on the seat, will finish his 8-hour shift and then go back to the hotel. I have seen that,” said Emraan.

Continuing his chat with us, Emraan told us that Chehre is not a song-driven film. The actor revealed that there is a wonderful track crooned by Amitabh Bachchan in Chehre. Besides that, he spoke about the song Rang Dariya, in which he features with his co-star Krystle D’souza.

“We shot it in Delhi, not in the best circumstances, it was really cold. It (song) was shot in the pool at 11 in the night,” said Emraan while joking that the song apparently looks romantic. However, he added, “Chehre is not like a romantic film where you have four to five songs.”

Talking about Chehre, it also stars Annu Kapoor and Rhea Chakraborty. Krystle marks her Bollywood debut with the Rumi Jaffery directorial and was a part of the film promotions with Emraan and producer Anand Pandit. On the other hand, Rhea kept herself away from Chehre promotions as she is still in the process of moving on from her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate demise (on June 14, 2020).
