Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Jigra’ and will soon appear on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ for the promotions. In the promo released by Netfflix before the episode premiere, Alia was heard saying ‘Alia Bhatt-Kapoor’ when Kapil Sharma called her name. This statement came as a surprise to her fans but the actress has not confirmed if she has officially changed her surname to Kapoor. Before the birth of her daughter Raha, Alia revealed that she would consider changing her surname as she does not want to feel left out.

While speaking to Mid-Day in 2022, Alia revealed, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out.” She further added, “I will and always will be Alia Bhatt. And now I am also a Kapoor.”

Alia tied the knot to Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, 2022, in an intimate ceremony and welcomed their daughter Raha in November 2022. The two first worked together in the movie ‘Brahmastra’ and started dating soon after. They officially made their first appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in 2018.

On the work front, Alia will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming ‘Love & War’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

She has also turned producer for the second time for her upcoming movie ‘Jigra’. Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie also stars Vedang Raina in the lead role and will hit theatres on October 11, 2024. The actress was last seen in the Hollywood movie ‘Hearts Of Stone’, streaming on Netflix.
