The Kerala government is taking concrete steps to bring global companies to the state and create employment opportunities, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Tuesday.

He said that he wants to build a new Kerala with an aim to generate 20 lakh jobs.

“We want to build a new Kerala. We are aiming to give 20 lakh jobs and formulated a comprehensive project. The state government is trying to create an atmosphere where people want to work across the country along with abroad. We want to provide them get such opportunities,” Vijayan said.

The Chief Minister further urged companies to choose Kerala as an investment destination.

“The state government is also taking steps to collaborate with global companies to bring employment opportunities for youth. We also urge companies to bring more investment to Kerala, promoting the state’s tourism, health, and higher education sector,” he said.

The CM, meanwhile, said today that instructions will be laid out to complete all government-level procedures at the earliest to withdraw police cases registered during the anti-CAA and Sabarimala protests in the state.

Vijayan said that the state government had already issued necessary orders in February this year to take appropriate action to withdraw cases that “were not of serious criminal nature”.
