Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been voted the best performing chief minister in the country by a survey. According to an IANS-CVoter survey, only six per cent of the respondents in the state are unhappy with Baghel. The tracker measures the performance of states as well as union territories on 115 parameters.
Yashwant Deshmukh, founder, CVoter said that voters are appreciating the CEO-like working style of chief ministers. Last year, Chhattisgarh had bagged 43 points on gender equality and had ranked seventh in the country. This year, the state scored 61 points and topped the country in gender equality.
“These are leaders who are not afraid of taking the blame. It is risky when things go wrong as in the case of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. But there is a better rating for the CEO style. We are living in a Parliamentary democracy, but a Presidential system is becoming popular with the public,” Deshmukh said.
Over 30 per cent voters ‘angry’ with KCR
According to the survey, Prakhar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand is the second-best CM with a mere 10.1 per cent of the electorate expressing ‘anger’ against his administration. Over 30.0 per cent of respondents are ‘angry’ with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Deshmukh said that KCR’s declining popularity may create an opportunity for the BJP to create inroads in Telangana.
According to the survey, the findings of which have been published by news agency IANS, 28.1 per cent of voters are ‘angry’ against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. This could be significant in the light of forthcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
