Char Dham Yatra ALERT! Pilgrims Urged To Avoid Travel From May 2 To 31 – Here’s What Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Said

Ahead of the commencement of the Chardham Yatra, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan urged all dignitaries, state-level officers, and judiciary members to avoid the pilgrimage from May 2 to 31. His request comes in light of the continuous increase in devotees. The Chardham Yatra will kick off on April 30, and the state administration is overseeing the preparation work. Meanwhile, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), along with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), is instructed to complete the roadworks before 25th April.

Health Secretary And Nodal Officer On Preparations

Speaking to ANI, R Rajesh Kumar, Health Secretary and Nodal Officer for Char Dham Yatra, said, “The entire Badrinath Dham route was inspected, particularly for roads, electricity, water, and health services. NHIDCL and BRO have sped up the work on the roads and choke points. Both are directed to complete the assigned work before 25 April 2025. There are 3 MRPs (Medical Relief Posts) on the entire Badrinath route, and 5 more are being developed with SOPs issued in 13 languages. We have ensured that the parking spots will also serve as screening spots.”

Rare Platform For Future Doctors

In a significant move, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the State Health Department’s proposal to allow the voluntary deployment of postgraduate trainee doctors. They will provide health services during the Char Dham Yatra. According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office, this approval will not only strengthen Uttarakhand’s preparations but also serve as a guide for public health policies in the future. This decision will provide a unique platform for future doctors for social service, training, and more.

Kedarnath Temple Gates To Open On May 2

The Char Dham Yatra will commence after the opening of Yamunotri and Gangotri on April 30. This will be followed by the opening of the Kedarnath Temple gate on May 2 and the Badrinath Temple gate on May 4. This year’s Yatra will be “Green Chardham,” as a complete ban has been placed on single-use plastic.
