Champions Trophy 2025: Most Runs By A Batter In Tournament’s History

One of the elite cricketing tournaments, ICC Champions Trophy is ready show it’s blaze in the cricketing world. With tournament is about to commence from February and Pakistan being the host, the buzz around the tournament has already picked up the spice.

When it comes to runs in any tournament, batters never disappoint and make the game blaze. here are the top-5 batters with most runs in Champions Trophy history:

Chris Gayle (WI): 791 Runs

The “Universe Boss” Chris Gayle was one of the most blistering batters in all forms of the game. Gayle was also one of the best entertainers in world cricket. In Champions Trophy, Gayle is the leading run-getter in the tournament.

Mahela Jayawardene (SL): 742 runs

One of the prominent players in the Sri Lankan cricket history, Mahela Jayawardene was one of the best stroke-makers in the game. With his sheer class and good temperament, the former Lankan skipper played an integral part in development of Sri Lankan cricket.

In Champions Trophy History, Mahela is the second highest run-getter.

Shikhar Dhawan (IND): 701 runs

Fondly known as “Gabbar”, Shikhar Dhawan recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Dhawan was also known as “Mr. ICC”, thanks to his astonishing stats in ICC tournaments.

Dhawan was the “Golden Bat” winner in two occasions (2013-2017) and ranks 3rd in most runs in the tournament.

Kumar Sangakkara (SL): 683 runs

The legendary Lankan southpaw, Kumar Sangakkara was one of the classiest left-hand batters in game’s history. With sheer timing like his fellow mate Mahela Jayawardene, Sangakkara was master in it.

In Champions Trophy history, Sanga is 4th on the list of most runs in the tournament.

Sourav Ganguly (IND): 665 runs

The last on this list is the former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly. Fondly known as “DADA”, Ganguly was one of the elite players of off-side, that’s why he was known as “God Of Off-side”. Ganguly played a crucial part in India’s resurgence in the limited-overs format.

In Champions Trophy history, Ganguly is 5th on this list.
