West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated her support to the farmers’ protest saying Trinamool Congress stands with the movement until all the demands are met.
We have passed the resolution against the farm laws. We are with farmers, with their movement until their demands are met, she said.
Saying that industries are suffering and GST is being levied on medicines, Mamata accused the Union government of not bothering to speak to the farmers for the last 7 months.

The TMC supremo further called for the withdrawal of the three farm laws saying “on one hand, we are facing natural disaster and on the other hand, we are facing political disaster because of the government.”
The CM also said that bulldozing states not good for a federal structure.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait met the Chief Minister at 3 pm in Kolkata to discuss issues related to agriculture, health, education and the local farmers.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Tikait said that the CM assured him that she will continue to support the farmers’ movement.
“We thank her for this assurance. West Bengal should work as a model state and farmers should be given more benefits,” he added.
The BKU leader also urged the CM to write a letter to the Centre against the three new farm laws as these laws will bring loss to farmers.
National issues need attention, want CM to focus on them: Tikait
The Centre should guarantee that a bill will be passed on MSP so that farmers over here can be benefitted from it, he added.
BKU leader further said that West Bengal should also conduct meetings with farmers every month.
“In many other states, meetings are held every month with the DC. DMs and officers of every department come there. This policy should be implemented in all states,” ANI quoted him as saying.
Tikait further said that the protest will continue and urged Mamata Banerjee to focus on national issues which need attention.
