The Indian audience witnessed the release of two completely films: Bhool Chuk Maaf and Kesari Veer. Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, is a romantic comedy film with a time loop twist. Meanwhile, Kesari Veer, starring Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty, is a historical war film. Check the box office collection of both the films as they clashed in theatres this friday.

According to Sacnilk, Bhool Chuk Maaf opened to decent numbers and earned Rs 6.75 crore. Meanwhile, Kesari Veeri was barely able to get a kickstart in theatres as it only earned Rs 25 lakhs.
The movie was earlier in the controversy after the makers decided to release the film directly on OTT. However, PVRInox sent a legal notice to Maddock Films and Pen Marudhar after the makers opted for direct streaming. For the unversed, Maddock Films took the decision of releasing Bhool Chuk Maaf directly on OTT in the light of recent situation and the heightened security drills across the country.
An insider told the publication, “They are not liable to answer anyone. Cinema halls in Jodhpur, and Punjab are shut, whereas the cinema halls in cities like Delhi are non-operational in the night shows. With the cancellation of IPL, it was a no-brainer for the producers to delay the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf. Since the KDM’s were already loaded all across the globe, there was a possibility of piracy too, which pushed the makers to go for a direct-to-digital release without much of a delay.”
As per Bollywood Hungama, PVR Inox argued that the decision of film’s direct OTT release was a clear breach of their binding agreement signed on May 6, 2025. The agreement reportedly mandated not only a theatrical release but also an 8-week exclusivity window before any digital premiere.
Bhool Chuk Maaf also stars Sanjay Mishra, Seema Bhargava Pahwa, Zakir Hussain Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, Anubha Fateh Puria, Jay Thakkar and Pragati Mishra seen in the pivotal roles.
Kesari Veer also stars Vivek Oberoi and Akanksha Sharma.
