Bollywood and television actor Gaurav Dixit has landed himself in a world of trouble after he was arrested on August 27 as the Narcotics Control Bureau recovered MD and Charas from his residence. Now, as per latest developments, on Friday, the Mumbai Court has granted bail to the actor in the drugs case on a surety of Rs 50,000.

For the unversed, the NCB was on the lookout for Dixit for the past few months after his name cropped up in the interrogation of actor Ajaz Khan and some other persons in April this year. Subsequently, Dixit’s home in Lokhandwala in Andheri was searched and drugs were seized.

Now, according to news agency ANI, Gaurav cannot leave the city without the court’s permission. ANI tweeted, “Mumbai court grants bail to TV actor Gaurav Dixit in a drugs case, on a surety of Rs 50,000 & the conditions that he can’t leave the city without the court’s permission & that he will report to NCB office on every Monday, Wednesday & Friday till filing of charge-sheet.”

Earlier, Gaurav had apparently gone missing after NCB raided his Mumbai home. As per reports, the actor, who had returned to his building with his flatmate, saw the NCB team and fled the area.

The NCB allegedly had claimed that the search at his residence led to the discovery of 8 grams of mepherdrone, 20 grams of charas and nine tablets of Ecstasy weighing 0.6 grams. Subsequently, the actor was booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Dixit, in his bail plea, through lawyer Kushal Mor, had claimed that the drugs found at his residence were not of commercial quantity.

In an earlier interaction with ETimes, Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede revealed that Gaurav had supplied drugs to Ajaz Khan, who is currently in jail for the same case. Sameer had further reveaeled that Ajaz and Gaurav have a direct connection with Shadab Batata, a well-known drug peddler. Sameer had said that in the Shadab Batata case, they had already managed to nab four people including Ajaz and therefore Gaurav had become very crucial in context to the network.Gaurav, who has worked in multiple films, television shows and commericals, is best knwon for Happy Bhaag Jayegi and Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi.
