The Aam Aadmi Party is on a mission to grab eyeballs with its off-the-cuff administrational decisions, keeping the youth upfront in most of its public interactions, and catchy slogans and songs during the election season.
However, one cannot also ignore the social media presence the party has, thanks to the GenZ that handles the accounts. From quirky digs at opposition parties to witty caption contests, AAP’s social media game is spot on most of the time.
Now, taking it one notch above, AAP has jumped onto the ‘trending reels’ bandwagon on Instagram in order to tap into the ‘cool’ younger masses, millennials who are hooked onto the latest catchy tunes to shake a leg or post tidbits from their daily life.
Taking cue from that, AAP used English singer Dua Lipa’s hit song ‘Levitating’ for one of its reels and denizens are going gaga over it.
The post begins with a photograph of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi when the lyrics read ‘You want me?’, followed by ‘People: No’ immediately.
The very next picture is that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the same question, which again is followed by the same answer.
Then comes AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and this time the lyrics say ‘We want you’ and ‘People: We Want You’.
The song is a huge hit among the GenZ public, and the Aam Aadmi Party sure knows how to grab their attention to push their political agenda.
