Marking an end of the work from home privileges of Tesla employees, chief executive Elon Musk in a memo said anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours or “depart Tesla”.
“Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers,” the mail read.
The veracity of the screenshots carrying the purported communication from the Tesla boss could not be established; however, Must replied to one such Twitter post, seemingly confirming the development.
In response to the Twitter post from a user named ‘Whole Mars Blog’ who wrote “hey elon a lot of people are talking about this leaked email, any additional comment to people who think coming into work is an antiquated concept?”, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla wrote, “They should pretend to work somewhere else”.
The leaked mail further stated: “If there are particularly exceptional contributors for whom this is impossible, I will review and approve those exceptions directly,” the mail signed by Elon read.
“Moreover, the “office” must be a main Tesla office, not a remote branch office unrelated to the job duties, for example being responsible for Fremont factory human relations, but having your office be in another state”.
