Yogi Adityanath wants to get me killed, goons of BJP attacked me: SP alliance partner Om Prakash Rajbhar

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Omprakash Rajbhar  made a startling claim, saying that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath wants to get me killed. Addressing the mediapersons, Rajbhar claimed that he was attacked on Monday when he was accompanying his party candidate Arvind Rajbhar going to file his nomination from Varanasi’s Shivpur constituency,

The SBSP chief, who has stitched an alliance with Akhilesh Yadav-headed Samajwadi Party, said that “Yogi ji wants to get me killed. Goons of BJP and Yogi were sent there in black coats.”

The SBSP and Samajwadi party are contesting the UP election together.

Interestingly, Rajbhar’s party was in alliance with BJP and was a part of the Yogi Adityanath-led government. However, the relations between the two parties turned bitter after SBSP decided to 2019 Lok Sabha elections independently.

The SBSP has repeatedly accused the Adityanath-led BJP government of having an indifferent attitude towards Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

In an apparent bid to counter Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party in the ongoing UP election 2022, the saffron party has fielded two-time MLA Kalicharan Rajbhar from Zahoorabad, the stronghold of Rajbhar.

The BJP has also fielded Ashok Singh from Mau Sadar Assembly constituency. SBSP has fielded jailed mafia don and MLA Mukhtar Ansari’s son Abbas Ansari from the particular segment. Notably, Mau Sadar is considered to be the bastion of Ansari, who is currently languishing in jail.

Kalicharan Rajbhar won the Zahoorabad Assembly seat in the 2002 and 2007 Uttar Pradesh elections. He suffered a defeat in the 2012 UP polls after losing to SP’s Sadab Fatima. In 2017, he again contested but was defeated by Om Prakash Rajbhar by a slender margin.
