The Independence Day 2026 was gearing up for a major Bollywood clash with three big releases including Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2, Kartik Aryan’s Naagzilla and Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor. However, it looks like the three-way collision at the box office may now be resolved with reports indicating that Varun ‘Bhediya 2’ will likely move from its announced release date.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the release of Bhediya 2 is likely getting postponed, a source told the portal, “Three big films coming on the same day would have caused a lot of issues in screen sharing. But with Bhediya 2 getting pushed, Love & War and Naagzilla can arrive on the same day.”

The source further added that Love & War’s release date hasn’t been finalized yet “Love & War’s release date is not yet locked. A final call will be taken soon. August 14 is definitely at the top of their wish list. As for Naagzilla, the makers feel the date is apt as their film deals with snakes. With Nag Panchami falling on August 17, they want to arrive on August 14.”

Bhediya 2

Bhediya 2 is the sequel of Bhediya a 2022 film where Varun Dhawan plays a shape shifting werewolf. Varun recently reprised his role in Stree 2 and is also expected to appear in Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.

Love & War

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is one of the most awaited films. It was earlier scheduled for March 20, 2026 but the film’s release may also shift to August due to delays in shooting. Set against a backdrop of war, the film promises an intense love triangle.

Naagzilla

On the other side, Naagzilla is a supernatural film in which Kartik Aryan will play a shape shifting snake. Directed by Fukrey fame Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and backed by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, Naagzilla is scheduled to release on August 14, 2026, to coincide with Naag Panchami celebrations.
