Zomato CEO’s Unique Job Offer: Pay Rs 20 Lakh For ‘Chief of Staff’ Role – Details Inside

It might seem like a funny jape to the average audience, but Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has come up with a very unique offer for the Chief of Staff position. As mentioned before, this is not a regular job posted on LinkedIn for a corporate office desk. This is a unique demand from the Zomato CEO. Instead of paying a salary, the candidate has to pay for the first year of employment. The candidate is expected to pay ₹20 lakh as a ‘fee’ to take the role. This job offer has made it to trending news among the youth for its unique hiring and learning approach.

The Zomato CEO‘s demand is a very strategic move. It calls for someone who is hungry, empathetic, down-to-earth, with zero entitlement, and a strong desire to learn, as written in the post on X. The job offer also gives the opportunity to explore some of Zomato’s biggest projects, including Blinkit, Hyperpure, and Feeding India. This offer and learning program is said to be equivalent to an elite MBA.

Deepinder Goyal’s offer is not just a role with high pay and flashy Zomato employee perks, but it is about working alongside the sharpest minds who built Zomato from scratch.

Zomato CEO’s Offer: Why Is The Offer Very Unique And Stands Out?

The catch is you will not get paid for the first year. On the contrary, you will have to contribute Rs 20 lakh. This will go towards Zomato’s donation program to Feed India, a non-profit initiative to fight hunger in the nation. The company itself will donate Rs 50 lakh to a charity chosen by the candidate. The perks are that, from the second year, the role will change into a paid position, though the salary for the position has not been disclosed by the CEO.

How To Apply

The candidates who are willing to apply must submit a cover letter comprising 200 words to Zomato CEO, Deepinder Goyal. This cover letter should not include the resume. This signals the unique approach, showing that words and intention matter more than just the corporate or academic career of the candidates.
