Silambarsan aka STR has always regarded his association with Yuvan Shankar Raja as delightful and memorable. On many public forums, STR had praised Yuvan’s magnanimous achievements and said that the latter deserved better recognition in the industry.
The camaraderie between Yuvan Shankar Raja and Silambarsan has opened up the way to new musical creation composed by newbie A.K. Priyan. Silambarasan will be a part of the new independent album produced under Yuvan’s official music label, U1 Records in association with Abi & Abi Entertainment and Noise and Grains.
Yuvan Shankar Raja took to his social media handle and shared the news. He uploaded a collage picture with Silambarsan and the entire crew of the independent album.

Yuvan also credited the director, lyricist, choreographer, actress Megha Aakash, actor Kalidas Jeyaram and creative director and head associated with the project.

On the feature film front, Yuvan and STR have Maanaadu. The political thriller film is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Maanaadu also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, SJ Surya, Premji Amaren, Karan, Karunakaran, Aravind Aakash, Manoj Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, and Bharathiraja in key roles.
The music of the film has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematography is by Richard M Nathan and editing by Praveen KL. The movie is produced by Suresh Kamatchi under the banner, V House Productions.
STR also has Maha, which features Hansika Motwani in the lead role. The film is written and directed by debutant director UR Jameel, a former associate of director Lakshman, who has directed films such as Romeo Juliet and Bogan. Maha also stars Srikanth, Nasser, Jayaprakash, Nanditha Jennifer and Chaaya Singh.
Silambarasan was last seen in the film Eeswaran directed by Suseenthiran. The film also starred Nidhhi Agerwal and was completely shot in lockdown period in 30 days. It was released alongside Thalapathy Vijay’s Master for Thamizhar Thirubaal Pongal 2021.
Coming back to Maanaadu, the film is in the final stages of post-production and its official theatrical announcement shall be expected anytime soon. Silambarsan will also start shooting for Nadhigalilaye Neeradam Sooriyan, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon with music by A.R. Rahman.
